High-Ranking Foreign Judges Arrive Ahead of Supreme Court Battle

Monday, August 29, 2022 –Africa Judges and Jurist Forum AJJF has send its delegation of high-ranking judges and jurists to follow the Supreme Court proceedings to kick of this week.

Homenews.co.ke has today Monday August 29 learnt that the high-voltage panel of five foreign judges had landed in the country and will camp at the Supreme Court so that to see what happens there during the hearing process.

“The eminent jurists will attend all Supreme Court hearings, monitor and document the presidential election petition based on international human rights standards of a fair trial,” the press release dated Monday, August 29 confirmed.

Chief Justice (Rtd) Mohammed Chande Othman from Tanzania is leading the 2022 Trial Observation Mission.

It also has Hon. Lady Justice Lillian Tibatemwa-Ekirikubinza of the Supreme Court of Uganda, Hon. Lady Justice Ivy Kamanga from Supreme Court of Appeal of Malawi, Justice Moses Chinhengo from Court of Appeal, Lesotho, and Justice Henry Boissie Mbha, President Electoral Court of South Africa.

They will be tasked with analysing how independent is the Kenyan Judiciary and weigh on how it delivers services in accordance with the law.
