How the BBI Exposed Every Politician in This Country

Wednesday, March 10, 2021 -The ongoing fights within the Handshake signifies the start of the end of Raila-Uhuru relationship. It is going to end in dis-ray if not corrected immediately.

Raila Odinga seems to be a man who the System always wants to use and dump for purposes of moving them to the next step anytime they rob him election victory. It first happened when Mwai Kibaki misused him.

The main reason any administration would always want to rush into containing him, is because of how it becomes too hard to govern the country that Odinga owns over a half of it.

Fast forward, Raila who started the now famous BBI gospel single-handedly as others gave it a wide berth, can now easily be dumped once it passes. Signs are nigh.

I remember very well how Uhuru and Ruto warned that nothing will ever take place in this country like Constitutional changes during their tenure because it was not a priority. Uhuru however, like a chameleon, changed along the way when he realized Ruto was not the right man to be with when he was already done with his support.

Gentleman Musalia Mudavadi was also not consistent with his stand on BBI. Many times he would say this and next minute say something else. He even moved from his initial version to calling for a consensus and nothing else.

His friends, Mr. Gideon, Kalonzo and Wetang’ula almost remained undecided until now when they started gravitating towards victory of the BBI.

As we speak today, they are all hovering around the BBI table just like Vultures do anytime there is free meat scattered on the ground. Anyway, that is good for the country when leaders speak in one voice. Thanks to Tinga.

And as Raila lies on his hospital bed fighting fatigue which resulted from his BBI tours across the country, it is time to ask ourselves why upto now there seems no one other than Raila is ready to stand up for something.

We can, as many times, wish Raila to fade out from the scene, but who is ready to step into his shoes and consistently do that which he has been doing. Even better?
