Thursday, December 1, 2022 –Members of the public had various reactions after Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and his boss William Ruto freely interacted with locals and traders during the launch of the hustlers’ fund today Wednesday November 30.

Ruto and his deputy had a chance to buy and eat roasted maize as well as take away potatoes and onions from local traders in an event organized at Green Park Terminus, Nairobi.

However, Kenyans on social media thought this was a well stage-managed affair since the persons who were selling the roasted maize and other commodities were putting on expensive jackets and shirts unlike how other traders always put on.

“Look at the roasting grill. It hasn’t been used in recent. Another of @OleItumbiPR stunts. Shame!!” Purple Rain commented.

Prince, on his part, argued that no president on earth can eat maize randomly like a chicken looking for food in the dust.

“You are a genius, no president can eat maize randomly like a chicken..no spontaneous occurrences here ..it’s a script,” Prince said.

Further, Nostalgic Nairobian noted that the person selling the roasted maize to the head of the State and his deputy was wearing an expensive leather jacket worth sh 20,000.

“That genuine leather jacket cost atleast 20k …too exquisite for roasting maize in Nairobi sun and dust ….BUT …the most striking thing about him is his head shape that resembles DP 100% …clearly outgrower child,” Nostalgic Nairobian noted.

Also present during the event was Cabinet secretary for Co-operatives and SMEs Development Simon Chelugui among a few other top State officials.
