Tuesday, July 5, 2022 –Tharaka Nithi Senator Kithure Kindi tore into pieces the 2013 agreement between Uhuru Kenyatta and Musalia Mudavadi.
Kindiki who was speaking in their Monday July 4 North Imenti rally shocked the country when he openly confessed that, together with DP William Ruto, they tore into pieces the agreement Uhuru had with Musalia which could have seen the latter become their flag bearer to faceof with Raila Odinga.
In the said agreement, a visibly reluctant Kenyatta wanted to abandon the presidential race and hand over the baton to the Amani National Congress leader, Musalia Muadavadi.
Kithure detailed how Uhuru had developed cold feet amid International Criminal Court case that saw him struggle to clean his name alongside that of William Ruto.
“Uhuru was a reluctant leader. In 2013, when it was declared that the country would face sanctions by the international community, he went and signed an agreement to transfer power and his candidature to another candidate.
“It was I and DP Ruto who went to his house and told him that he could not change the decision of the vote and that he must be in the ballot. I am the one who tore the agreement he had written while hiding under his bed,” he stated.
The sentiments are coming against the backdrop of another storm created by a leaked audio recording in which Ruto can be heard speaking about how he was about to slap his boss Uhuru Kenyatta in 2017 after the Supreme Court verdict that presidential elections should be repeated.
