Huge explosion witnessed in Lebanon, scores injured[Video]

Lebanon authorities are struggling with rescuing citizens trapped in rubble after a huge and massive blast occurred in Lebanono’s capital city Beirut.

Though the cause of the explosion is yet to be clear, Beirut City Governor Marwan Aboud confirmed that the area is a ‘disaster city’ and the damage was huge.

“I saw a fireball and smoke billowing over Beirut. People were screaming and running, bleeding. Balconies were blown off buildings. Glass in high-rise buildings shattered and fell to the street,” The Telegraph quoted a Reuters witness.

Ministry of Health Lebanon led by Hamad Hassan confirmed 10 fatalities saying several people were also still trapped under rubble. He spoke this to LBS Television channel.

A chilling video which was shared on social media platforms showed a scaring episode of an explosion near Beirut which tore the city into pieces. The waves were felt in the neighbourhood.

Men, women, and children could be seen on camera running for their safety with their faces covered in blood. Hospitals, on the other hand, were reported filled by those injured in the Tuesday August 4^th horrifying and life threatening blast.

There was also reported shortage of blood in the city as hospitals through the Ministry of Health kept requesting for blood donations from well-wishers to save lives that were in critical situations.

Scanty reports from other sources distanced the explosion from the recent tension between Israel and the militant group on Lebanon Southern border. This was according to how The Telegraph quoted a Hizbollah source.

Some roadside quarters claimed that this must have been accused by accidental explosion of fireworks.
