Tuesday, June 11, 2024 –Statehouse Spokesperson Mohamed Hussein and Kanze Dena, spokesperson – Office of the 4th President have engaged in supremacy battle following claims by the latter that the government is frustrating Uhuru Kenyatta and his staff.
Responding to Kanze’s statements on the media, Hussein observed that there is an office in Nyali which the former President Mwai Kibaki was using. Today the office is vacant and the fourth President who is now retired is free to occupy and use whenever he deems fit to use it.
Hussein was speaking this after Government spokesman Isaac Mwaura also read a rejoinder to Dena that accused Uhuru of attempting to be a landlord and a tenant at the same time.
But Dena is a series of media interviews yesterday Monday June 10, stated that the former first family and especially Mama Ngina Kenyatta is entitled to 50 percent of her husband’s pension and that the current three Range Rover which Ngina has were allocated to her by the late President Daniel Moi.
“The 3 range rovers that Mama Ngina has in her possession were allocated to her by the late President Moi and the late President Mwai Kibaki during their respective tenures. The government of the day has not provided her with any vehicles. On 18th July 2023 at 7PM all her drivers and security detail allocated to her were withdrawn from their residences via phone,” she told Olive Burrows on Citizen Tv night interview.
Dena also accused the current administration of not releasing payments for Uhuru Kenyatta’s staff now for two years.
“For two years I have not been remunerated. When I was asked to come and join the team, I joined the team. Somewhere along the way things were not working out so what is the best choice to do in terms of character? I chose to sail through the storms,” said Ms Dena.
Asked how she keeps moving with life despite the hiccups, Dena explained that savings have played a major role in her survival in the city.
“I would like to urge Kenyans please save for a rainy day. That is when I understood the meaning of savings. I thank God for saccos and for all the opportunities to save. Please save, days like these do come,” Dena advised.
Before joining Uhuru Kenyatta government as a Statehouse spokeswoman, Dena was a Swahili news anchor at Citizen Tv owned by the Royal Media Services RMS along Dennis Pritt Road Kilimani.
- Hussein Mohamed, too, was an English news reader at Citizen Tv.
