Thursday, March 3, 2022 –Outspoken Mathira Constituency lawmaker Rigathi Gachagua has refuted claims that he is eying to deputize William Ruto.
Addressing the matter shortly after he insisted that the running mate slot was meant for their region, Gachagua has come out to clarify that he is not going for the second position in UDA Party. He added that he will be defending his Mathira seat in the August 9 polls.
The billionaire who was speaking on Thursday March 3 added that he had paid the entire official fee to reclaim his seat and seized the opportunity to ask those who want to challenge him on UDA Party ticket to come forth and announce their cnadidature.
“I have officially left my previous party, Jubilee, and joined the UDA, the Party of the Future.
“I paid the necessary fee to run for the Mathira Parliamentary seat on a UDA ticket,” Gachagua said.
A couple of days ago, the MP exchanged with Amani National Congress ANC Party Secretary General Simon Gikuru over the running mate position.
