Thursday, July 28, 2022 –Former Secretary General Jubilee Party, Raphael Tuju, has challenged Deputy President William Ruto to sue him over the payment remarks he(Tuju) made the other day on Inooro FM.
Speaking on Citizen Tv show Wednesday July 27, the former Rarieda Member of Parliament further mainatined that Ruto asked for billions of money from the Kenyatta family in exchange for his support base of Rift Valley.
Tuju has therefore said he is ready to step in any court of law and prove this to the country because he has enough evidence.
“If it is necessary for me to repeat this in a court of law I will because I know I have the evidence and it is not just me, do find out from a lot of people in our circles they will tell you that there was no way Ruto was going to give anything for free,” he explained.
He added that this disturbing demand was quickly contributed by Uhuru Kenyatta’s friends and family members in a rush to get him(Ruto) on board as their 2013 running mate.
Some of these monies had to be parted with upfront as the balance was squared out through plum State ministries which DP Ruto grabbed by force e.g Agriculture, Energy and Treasury.
“A lot of people who supported President Uhuru went out of their way to collect these money and make Ruto come on board. For a man who says Ksh7 billion only, your guess is as good as mine but it was in the billions,” Tuju added.
The Azimio la Umoja Executive Director has, therefore, accused Ruto of doing business with the lives of Kenyans instead of doing what the spirit of leadership requires.
“These are demands of payments which he did not only make on TNA that time but also made them on ODM previously,” he went on.
Tuju now says Uhuru finds it very easy to work with a man who doesn’t demand anything nor do business with the lives of Kenyans rather than a man who is always thinking of money and if it is not there he ends up looting to enrich himself.
“It was better several times over to work with an honest Raila who would be ready to work with him without demanding anything in Government, support him in Parliament instead of a Ruto who, at every corner, blackmailed the President,” he added.
To back up this wild claims, Tuju explained that the Uhuruto government was always run as a grand-coalition where Ruto bagged several lucrative ministries as well as tenders in a bid to pay up himself because he doesn’t believe in an honest leadership.
