Tuesday, July 5, 2022 –Jubilee Party nominated Member of Parliament David Sankok has made a sharp about-turn on his retirement from active politics.
Making the clarification over his Spice FM Monday June 4 claims, the MP dismissed reports that he had announced his willingness to quit politics for a quiet life elsewhere.
On TV 47 on Tuesday July 5, the United Democratic Alliance UDA-allied MP said not even at one instance had he stated that he was done with politics. He argued that what he only announced was that he won’t be vying again.
“What did I say? I did not say that I am retiring from politics, those are rumours. I said that I am not going for any elective seat just like my brother and friends Prof Kindiki, just like Sabina Chege. Just like John Mbadi the ODM chairman.
“Not going for an elective seat does not mean retiring from politics and if you see me very well, at the age of 43, yet we have people at the age of 80 still in politics, do I look like somebody who can exit politics?” MP Sankok added.
Viral understanding that the 43-year old lawmaker had officially quit politics started when he was recently captured on media promising that he will not run for any elective position; what he now says is different from completely quitting the industry.
