Monday, March 14, 2022 –Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has revealed rare details about their Saturday agreement with Raila Odinga’s Azimio la Umoja Movement.
Discussing the intrigues behind their agreement, the Wiper Party leader while at his Tseikuru Village home on Monday March 14, disclosed how they did not discuss anything to do with running mate position and that he was less concerned about such heavy topics because he didn’t want anyone to blame him.
The former Vice President said he went for the signing of the coalition agreement with clean hands just like before and that serious discussions about the structure of their alliance including who becomes who would be deliberated upon later.
“Oh no we didn’t discuss who is deputizing Raila or not. That would be a discussion for another day. Such a discussion didn’t take place. Right now I am ready to support Raila even 20 times because I don’t want any blame on me,” Kalonzo said in a clip with the NTV.
He said his intention was to prove to Kenyans that he was and still is a selfless leader who may bite the bullet for the nation during any crisis just like he did in 2007 when the country was burning
He also talked about signing of the pact which had its fair share of challenges. He noted that there was a mix-up at some point when MP Junet Mohamed brought a document with Azimio la Umoja title instead of Azimio-OKA which name they will register under the political party amendment bill.
Kalonzo also weighed in on the absence of their OKA colleague Martha Karua saying she was kept in the loop and that nothing had gone wrong among them.
