Tuesday, July 26, 2022 –Deputy President William Ruto has now said that he will go to court should it happen that the outcome of the presidential election is not satisfactory.
Speaking during the Tuesday July 26 presidential debate, the Kenya Kwanza alliance flagbearer also assured the country that he does not expect to lose the election to Mr. Odinga but in-case this happens fairly, he will accept the outcome and move on.
Ruto, however, indicated the willingness of going to the court if he will not be satisfied with the Wafula Chebukati-led commission announcement always done at the Bomas of Kenya.
“I will accept the outcome of this election. I know that the people of Kenya will make a firm choice. If it is me I will accept if its not me I may go to court and accept the decision made there,” Ruto stated on the floor as well as after the debate.
Asked why Azimio boycotted the whole debate exercise, Ruto wildly claimed that his rival Mr. Odinga did not attend the session because he is a State-sponsored project who has no plan for the nation.
While attending to a question fielded by one of the moderators, the DP further said that Mr. Odinga, by virtue of being a project of Uhuru Kenyatta, could not and cannot stand as a man on his own.
He further stated that the reason that made Mr. Odinga not to show up is not what they had pretended to claim that he(Ruto) lacks integrity and decorum.
He argued that Odinga, all along, has not had leadership agenda for the country and this makes some of the reasons he cannot stand infront of the country today and discuss anything.
