Thursday, May 13, 2021 -Jubilee Vice Chairman David Murathe has continued defending his immense wealth saying he became a millionaire before his links with President Uhuru Kenyatta.

According to his latest argument, his direct involvement into politics when he first ran for the Gatanga Parliamentary seat and became an MP left him broke. He claimed that before he was an MP, he was already a rich young person.

“I have grown up in business. I am not taking advantage of my proximity with the president. I am not in government, I don’t work for the government but I am a businessman.

“I was rich before I went to parliament but when I went to parliament I became broke, I even had to take the receiving order,” he added while appearing on KTN News.

Just like he had stated before, the vocal Jubilee Vice Chair reiterated that he owned the largest computer company in Kenya which enabled him earn millions every year.

“At the time, people like Rigathi Gachagua were earning a paltry sh 3,500 as District Officers (DO’s) in Molo,” Murathe kidded.

He went ahead to claim that his parents were real Hustlers and his rise to stardom was motivated by that situation in their family.

In one of the latest heated TV debates, Mathira MP Rigathi Gachagua poked holes in the manner Murathe had acquired his wealth. He claimed that Murathe’s sudden rise to millionaire standards was as a result of his wheeler-dealership in Jubilee government.

“Today you are a multi-millionaire, you have made all this money yet nobody is asking you how you made it…when the president came to power you made deals with the Chinese,” Gachagua said.

And talking about the removal of Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura from the Senate, Mr. Murathe said that was done and dusted waiting to process the remaining lot.
