Tuesday, March 1, 2022 –Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has confirmed he won’t attend the first joint Azimio rally scheduled in Nakuru on Wednesday.
Kalonzo today Tuesday March 1 while responding to journalist questions said he will not be attending the Azimio rally in Nakuru on Wednesday March 2 which will see Uhuru and Raila lead their troopes.
“Tomorrow I will not be attending. We first have to be clear on this one. I will not attend and will only start attending Azimio rallies when everybody is at peace and liberty,” he argued.
Asked why he was dillydallying to fully endorse Raila, Kalonzo said the NASA agreement requires Raila to throw weight behind him and not the vice versa. He went ahead to table the agreement which he claimed was signed by Mr. Odinga and their lawyers in 2017.
Kalonzo claimed that the agreement though not still binding was presided over by two lawyers Kivutha Kibwana and Makau Mutua both who have already endorsed Raila Odinga’s presidency.
“Makau Mutua and Kivutha Kiwana are two important names which you need underscore. They were there overseeing all these,” Kalonzo recounted.
The former NASA principal, however, made it clear that all is not cast in stone and with the required goodwill, he is still willing to negotiate with Odinga even if it means one on one so that to set the record right.
He called upon Odinga, Makau Mutua and Kivutha Kibwana to be ready to answer to integrity issues before he agrees on anything.
Kalonzo further argued that he was today forced top read the NASA agreement which he believes with absolve him from any blame and may also form the basis for future negotiations.
He said that though NASA is dead, the agreement can still work on personal level between him and Odinga.
