Wednesday, February 9, 2022 –Millions of Kenyans have lauded Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Peter Munya for dropping his 2022 gubernatorial ambitions.

Delivering the news today on Wednesday, February 9, the CS said he still has alot to accomplish at the national level.

Citizens who were caught unawares commented that Munya’s resignation would have left Uhuru Kenyatta’s administration at a very difficult corner since he is among the key figures in Jubilee Government today.

“A very informed decision I expected. Munya is a very strong government administrator who cannot be left by government because he performs equally a great role in streamlining government ministries. These are people of rare talents and government heavily rely on them.. same applies to Matiangi. A government having them two are enough to criss-cross reformation in government ministries,” Benson Buantai noted on Facebook.

Speaking to the press at his the Kilimo House offices in Nairobi, Mr. Munya confirmed that he was not going to contest for anything in the next elections. He revealed to have reached the decision after a thorough soul-searching mission.

“I know there have been speculations regarding my state of vying for Meru Gubernatorial aspirations. I have been reflecting on my political journey and talking to my supporters and looking at the current situation and I have come to a conclusion that at this point in time, the best strategic decision I can make is not to vie for the position in the coming election,” Munya stated.

He said that his mission now is to make sure PNU Party remains intact within Azimio la Umoja ahead of the next elections.

Munya further pledged to throw his weight behind any candidate who will be picked to carry the Azimio la Umoja flag.
