ICC Prosecutor Karim Khan Recuses Self From Kenyan Cases

Tuesday, August 8, 2023 –International Criminal Court ICC Chief Prosecutor Karim Khan has recused self from handling cases from Kenya.

This after Azimio-allied leaders read mischief in his recent visit in the country where he was honoured with a Honorary Degree from Mt. Kenya University MKU during their recent graduation ceremony.

Homenews.co.ke has established that Lawyer Khan withdrew from the cases after learning that some sections in Kenya were not happy with his recent visit.

He is also the lawyer who represented William Ruto in the 2007 ICC case and, therefore, conflict of interest could affect his judgement on any Kenyan case.

Appearing on TV47 this week, he played cagey with details and knowledge on latest complaints from Kenyan political players.

He cited professionalism and conduct as key when it comes to talking about such sensitive matters.
