Monday, August 7, 2023 –Majority Leader in the National Assembly Kimani Ichung’wah will be meeting Wiper Party boss Kalonzo Musyoka on Wednesday this week.

Addressing supporters in Othaya Nyeri County in Mt. Kenya on Monday August 7 noon, MP Ichung’wah confirmed to his boss President William Ruto that he had reached out to Kalonzo and, together, agreed to meet on Wednesday to plan on their dialogue schedule.

Ichung’wah added that the meeting will be taking place at the Bomas of Kenya in the open and without any form of allowances.

“Today Mr. President, I want to confirm that I called Hon. Kalonzo on my phone and we discussed and agreed to start our meetings at the Bomas of Kenya.

“That is where we are going to hold our meetings and no one will be paid any form of allowances,” Ichung’wah further added.

He also revealed warning Mr. Kalonzo that the cost-of-living will not make part of the agenda because that is a matter under the elected government.

“Cost of living is not anything to be discussed because this government was elected to carry out that mandate and the president is working on that issue,” he assertively said.

His sentiments corroborating those of his boss William Ruto who, at the Sagana State Lodge, said that he will not discuss with the opposition the cost of living.

“About cost of living, I asked the opposition to go and tell Kenyans how putting on sufuria on their heads can lower the cost of living.

“For us, we have asked Kenyans to go to their farms because we understand that is how we can have food in this country,” Ruto added.

On Sunday August 6, Cabinet Secretary for Roads CS Kipchumba Murkomen urged Kimani Ichung’wah to make an official phone call to Kalonzo so that they can sit down for talks.

He advised the two leaders to respect each other in the manner in which they communicate so that to start the planned dialogue for the sake of the nation.

Murkomen was speaking this in the presence of Governor Gladys Wanga who hosted him on Sunday for a church service at Nyalieng’a Catholic Parish in Kochia, Rangwe Constituency, Homa Bay County.

The Roads CS later had the privilege to support the construction of the church’s sanctuary through a brief afternoon fundraiser.
