Saturday, December 2, 2023 –Majority Leader in the National Assembly Kimani Ichung’wah has asked President William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua not to waste their money and time campaigning against Azimio in 2027 because a win is guaranteed.

Speaking in Rift Valley today during The Great Chepsaita Cross Country Run held in Turbo, Uasin Gishu County, the Kikuyu lawmaker said, should Raila Odinga attempt to run again, he will receive a beating larger than what happened in 2022.

And should he decide to front Kalonzo, MP Ichung’wah said he will campaign alone without the help of Ruto and win with a landslide against Kalonzo before handing over power to Ruto and Rigathi Gachgua to continue with their second term.

“Kalonzo Musyoka cannot defeat anybody. If they bring Kalonzo on the ballot, he will meet me alone not Ruto or Gachagua.

“I will win against Kalonzo then hand over power to my bosses Ruto and Rigyy G,” he quipped.

Yesterday while in Kakamega County drumming up support for his ODM Party registration exercise, opposition leader Raila Odinga hinted at a comeback on the ballot.

He said the numbers he will will receive through the ongoing mass party registration exercise will inform his next move whether to vie again or not.

The Azimio La Umoja leader said his sixth stab at the 2027 presidential race will be pegged on the numbers registered during the ongoing ODM mass recruitment.

Odinga who was speaking in Shinyalu constituency, Kakamega County, rallied the youth across the country especially ODM strongholds to turn for the exercise insisting that the youth are the vanguard of the party.

The Odinga-led party commenced the recruitment drive ahead of grass root election set for March 2024 as well as to enhance the party’s image after last elections which they lost to Kenya Kwanza.

“When you register as party members, I will consider. Just make sure you register as ODM party members then I can consider whether to continue with the political race,” he told the crowd.
