Thursday, March 23, 2023 –Kikuyu Member of Parliament MP Kimani Ichung’wah has distanced himself from the allegations linking him to the suspicious night meetings focused on opposition leader Raila Odinga.

The National Assembly majority leader, on Thursday, March 23, was forced to react to the worrying claims from the opposition boss who incriminated him among the key Central Kenya leaders busy crafting means of dealing with him over the ongoing demonstrations.

Raila, today, shared not-so-good details from the night-long meeting that youth from Central Region were invited with an aim of planning to harm over 1000 Azimio supporters, collect evidence and forward it to the International Criminal Court in the Hague, ICC.

Addressing the matter on the floor of the House today Thursday March 2, Ichung’wah, however, clarified that he was very tired on the day Raila has mentioned and just retired home in the evening until next morning when he had to report back on job.

“I left the Parliament late and went home straight away. My daughter and I slept late and woke up early this morning, after which I came directly to work,” Ichung’wah told the plenary.

He went ahead to challenge Mr. Odinga to provide any evidence on the meeting and, if possible, find the reason of the meeting from perhaps Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua and Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro.

In a statement read from his Capitol Hill office on Thursday, the ODM Party leader claimed that Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua is now spending his nights in Karen trying to come up with plans to not only sabotage the ongoing peaceful demonstrations, but also to harm supporters and accuse him in the ICC.

Raila and his Azimio troops have lined up a series of protests in Nairobi and the rest of the country; in their effort to force Ruto to accept their demands on electoral reforms, opening of IEBC servers to scrutinize records, cost of living in the country among other issues.

Raila and Gachagua have both ruled out possibility of another Handshake.
