Iconic Trees in Nairobi Being cut Down to Stop Youth Meetings

Thursday, March 16, 202 –Bunge la Mwananchi’s Nuru Okanga has accused the State for cutting down iconic trees in Nairobi to stop them from discussing politics.

Addressing this on various online media channels on Thursday March 16 afternoon, the Raila Odinga’s diehard supporter revealed that trees which provide them with shade during their meetings are now being brought down in Nairobi so that they can lack a place to hold their daily meetings.

The iconic tree at Jacaranda Grounds where ordinary Kenyans from estates and slums around the historic grounds meet to discuss politics

“Nimetoka nyumbani ushago na kufika hapa Nairobi nimekutana na mambo ya aibu sana.

“Yaani Ruto anakata miti usiku saa nane ya usiku. Hii ni kuonyesha anaogopa na sasa anatumia njia za kutuuzia uoga(Ruto is now selling us fear),” he claimed.

He also pointed out that not only at Jacaranda Grounds but also at Jevanjee Gardens where their Bunge la Mwananchi group holds political meetings, some trees have already been earmarked by the government for cutting soon.

Okanga went further by claiming that their lives are now in great danger from the current Government.

Okanga, Gaucho and many other slum youth have daily open space meetings around Nairobi where they discuss politics, politicians and governance.
