Monday, August 22, 2022 –Kakamega and Mombasa Counties will go the polling station on Monday August 29 to elect their governors.

This is following a successful IEBC-stakeholders meeting which was held today Monday August 22 in Nairobi following an invitation from Chairman Wafula Chebukati.

The meeting saw both sides – IEBC and Contestants – iron out any outstanding issues ahead of the election that had been postponed twice.

First the exercise failed to take place on Tuesday August 9 before it was moved forward to August 23 and now on Monday August 29.

Chebukati also announced that six other remaining areas will have their elections take place so that the country can start moving forward.

These regions are Kitui Rural Constituency in Kitui County, Kacheliba Constituency in West Pokot County, Pokot South Constituency also in West Pokot County and Rongai Constituency (Nakuru County) where MPs were not elected due to one reason or the other.

“We have only four days to campaign, it is too short. What I am proposing chair is to campaign till end of this month,” suggested one of the candidates what created a shouting match that saw Chebukati quickly intervene.
