If Vietnam remains defiant that Margret Nduta Macharia, a Kenyan, must be executed, then there is an urgent need to touch our Constitution so that we can also start punishing foreigners the same way.
Kenya has left more foreigners free even after being found guilty of serious crimes including economic and murder. Foreigners have been caught here doing the worst crimes ever but all we can do is to deport them out. We have never executed one.
Infact, some are deported for just a short period of time before they return afresh to do business with our government.
Nigerians have committed too many crimes in Kenya. They have peddled hard drugs around, murdered Kenyans here and some have been scamming people left, right and center but nothing we have never killed one.
Kenyan government has tried urging Vietnam to deport Nduta back here but there has been no goodwill signs upto now. Nduta could, therefore, be executed. But should this happen, then we have every reason to also start subjecting foreigners to similar harsh punishments.
Our Kenyan laws must be reviewed so that there is death penalty for foreign nationals committing crimes such as: murder, rape, drug /human trafficking, spying etc.
It’s time this country must also be respected, going forward. What is good for you must also be good for me.
