In Kenya, Corruption is our Second Name

Chris Akali

Leaders in this country have taken Kenyans for a ride for soo long time. Not just the National government but even at the County level, governors brag about World Bank-funded projects and because we are fools as always, they run away with the credit.

So many major and minor roads in this country are being funded by the World Bank but you will find a national leader putting on a tie and a black suit shouting on top of their voices that he or she is the one constructing road A or B.

This trend has also been seen in many counties where the World Bank has been funding so many major infrastructures. And the problem is the World Bank which funds these projects through these corrupt leaders. Why cant the WB do this through independent agencies or committees?

It makes some of us praise President Donald Trump for cutting off some of these funds so that we can reduce this madness in African countries and, especially, Kenya where corruption is our second name.
