In Mombasa Ruto criticized those who stood against the controversial handover of Jomo Kenyatta International Airport JKIA to the Indian conglomerate, Adani Group.
Ruto, who was at the Coast during the opening of Devki Iron Ore Pelletisation Plant on December 2 in Taita Taveta County, openly took issue with Kenyans who were opposed to JKIA-Adani deal.
“Recently, I saw other people glorify those who stopped the construction of the airport as heroes, what heroes? The airport is in a tent. Other countries are building their airports yet ours is not built. What gain do you get when you stop the building of an airport in your country and you lack alternative ideas and you have no clue how it will be built,” President Ruto remarked.
And yesterday Thursday Dec 12, before the dust could settle, Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah attacked Henry Omondi. A very helpless poor street boy whose only crime was to reject Adani during protests.
“I am certain the young man (Henry Omondi) who clearly form what I saw has never patronised an airport, does not even understand the value of an international airport; not to an economy of ours, but to the regional economy,” said Kikuyu MP Ichung’wah as quoted by various media outlets.
Kenyans now think this is not a mature gesture from National leaders who are now shifting attention to the poor Henry and whistleblower Amenya instead of fighting the runaway corruption in the country.
Patriotic Henry found himself defending the country without being personal an I am sure he is shocked that big men took offence with his stand as a Kenyan citizen.
