Wednesday, February 10, 2021 -President Uhuru Kenyatta won his first Presidential race in 2013 and because time flies very fast, he is just 17 months shy from his retire.

Uhuru who rose to power with his Deputy William Ruto in 2013 under the umbrella of Uhuruto slogan have not really made Kenyans proud because they went into power each with a weird agenda and not that which they promised in rallies. The government which was left to them by President Mwai Kibaki seems to have been negatively impacted by the young men who promised Kenyans a vibrant and renewed economy.

To prove  that the country is on the downside trend, the duo are now pulling apart and calling each other names because things are not looking so good. Interestingly, Ruto has come up with more new promises before he tells Kenyans what happened with the previous story. This is what some would call ‘political deceit’.

The country has faced a history breaking corruption with billions lost daily into a few pockets of rogue politicians working in the government. Tenders and businesses are being conducted in broad day light and money siphoned to private accounts as if there is no leadership. The only thing you hear the president say is a helpless confession that “some individuals are looting billions from his government every day”.

Fast forward, succession politics is now the hot topic on their lips and both Ruto and his boss Kenyatta still want to have a say. They are not ashamed of their dismal performance in the last two terms. And that is how our rotten politicians can be. It is just as bad as that because the same persons who have done nothing for eight years  still want to clinch to power in one way or another. Kenyans, on the other hand, are clapping as usual instead of rebuking them. In developed democracies, Uhuru and Ruto could have been stopped from discussing matters Statehouse any other time. They have to be called out loudly and shamed. But who cares? Just as the Word of God puts it “my people are suffering because they lack wisdom”.

Before he hangs his political boots, and exits the stage, Uhuru is busy thinking about who should step into his shoe as he takes another seat too probably through their BBI agenda. He had promised Mr. Ruto power but this can nolonger work due to their own irreconcilable reasons. Each one is calling the other bad. But Kenyans must know that all these persons are not worth. They failed the country and must be told right in their face.

To make the matters worse, Uhuru is now weighing between Raila, Gideon Moi and Mudavadi. This number can rise according to dynamics anyway. I wonder why he thinks he is the rightful man to pick next leadership for Kenyans. This is where he goes wrong! If Kenyans are crying under his leadership, where is he getting the audacity to talk about the 2022 succession politics? This is strange but still possible in a failed country like Kenya.

Shall he throw his gauntlets behind Mr. Odinga, no one upto now knows but in Kenya anything can be possible or not. Kenya’s politics is not among the worlds honest fields. You cannot trust a word of mouth same to a written agreement. When it will be reduced to just a piece of paper, is a ‘right’ guess.

Apart from Raila, Uhuru also has a debt with the Mois. If it were not Moi who endorsed him, Uhuru would still be a wasted man in Gatundu doing nothing maybe just family businesses. And for this reason alone, Gideon Moi will not be left without anything. He must be number one or two in the next dispensation. Thank me later.

Mudavadi is also another possible bargain because of several other reasons. He might anyway get a slice of this boardroom arrangements because he is touted as the best compromise candidate when all the mathematics is not working.

So should Kenyatta II utilize the 2002 succession matrix, be sure Mois son Mr. Gideon will be top on his list. Win or not, Uhuru would have elevated Gidi to a better political starting point. Gideon would now have been left with a simple task of wading through few left hurdles until this dream comes to materialize.
