Monday, April 25, 2022 –Deputy President William Ruto has absorbed Nominated Senator Isaac Mwaura in his campaign squad.
Announcing the news today Monday April 25, Ruto said Mwaura will be taking up two roles in their Kenya Kwanza national campaign – he will coordinate Kiambu County as well as be an in between with those living with disability.
The appointment is coming at the point when the senator had already lost nomination position in the just ended United Democratic Alliance UDA Party primaries.
“Welcome, Hon Isaac Mwaura to the Kenya Kwanza national campaign. I wish you well in your new role as a team leader in Kiambu County and also in the community of people living with disabilities,” Ruto declared.
Ruto also used the opportunity to thank Mwaura for accepting the defeat he suffered from King’ara in their competitive nomination process.
“Your magnanimity to accept the outcome of our just concluded party nominations in Ruiru Constituency adds to your leadership credentials,” partly read the statement from the DP.
King’ara beat Mwaura after garnering a total of 4,688 votes against Mwaura’s 2,428 votes in their April 17 contest.
“It’s now time to heal the deep wounds out of the party primaries and thus move forward towards the August General Election,” Mwaura stated in his concession speech.
The politician added that the voice of the majority surpasses an individual’s ambitions and used the opportunity to wish King’ara well in the remaining august 9 fight that will pit him against Jubilee candidate.
Starehe lawmaker Charles Kanyi Njagua aka Jaguar and MC Jessy are among those who defied Ruto’s plea to concede defeat in primaries and have since vowed to soldier on with their campaigns on independent tickets.
