Saturday, December 11, 2021 –Kisii County Deputy Governor Joash Maangi now claims it is hard to be in United Democratic Alliance UDA Party and win any election in Kisii Region.

Mr. Maangi who has been with Ruto for a long time has now made an about-turn and joined Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party which he described as the natural party for locals in Kisii area.

The Kisii County Deputy Governor has been conspicuously missing in many of Deputy President’s latest political events in Kisii. For example, Maangi skipped the Deputy President’s rallies in Nyaribari Masaba, Nyaribari Chache, Bobasi and Itibo Markets last Wednesday, December 8, 2021.

He would however opt for the Azimio la Umoja National Convention held at Kasarani on Friday, December 10.

At Kasarani, he was sited close to Rarieda Member of Parliament Otiende Amollo and scores of other ODM party elected politicians.

“Azimio Was Liiiit! Even My Brother HE Joash Maangi Joined The Winning Team!” MP Amollo commented.

And speaking to Standard Digital, Mr. Maangi attributed his unexpected move to mounting pressure from his constituents who he said have no soft spot for Ruto’s Hustlers’ camp.

“I have always been in ODM. You know what it means to be in ODM Party in the Kisii region,” said the Deputy Governor.

The DG has openly showed interest in succeeding Governor James Ongwae in the 2022 general elections.
