Sunday, May 8, 2022 –Embattled Starehe Member of Parliament Charles Kanyi Njagua aka Jaguar has reunited with Deputy President William Ruto in their ongoing Western Region tour.
This is despite the MP having recently threatened to dump United Democratic Alliance UDA Party so that to vie on an independent ticket.
Jaguar lost to his main challenger, Simon Mbugua, a fact he could not digest easily before he arranged huge protests in his area daring DP Ruto to bring on his candidate Mbugua so that they can meet in the ballot on August 9.
“The people of Starehe were denied their democratic right to go to the ballot again for the nominations and choose their leader,” Mr Njagua had protested in a Facebook page recently barely a week after holding a rally in Nairobi’s Starehe area.
He accused the William Ruto-led party of using unorthodox means to arrive at preferred candidates in their primaries.
“The party decided to carry out opinion polls to decide whom to award the nomination certificate and it has been done,” he added.
But yesterday Saturday May 7 and today Sunday May 8, the Kigeugeu hitmaker was spotted together with DP in Bungoma; a clear indication that he had decided to eat humble pie.
“Solutions to problems facing this country can only be found from the electorate. Boda boda operators, cereal and dairy farmers have problems. It is only a person without brains who can vote for Azimio,” said Mr Njagua.
Also in the team were National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi and other leaders who were attending a church service at St Peter’s Claver Catholic Church in Kiminini, Trans Nzoia County.
