Wednesday, February 8, 2023 –Felix Odiwuor aka Jalang’o has said he will be attending all Azimio la Umoja rallies to keep President William Ruto leadership in check.

The former comedian promised to accompany their coalition leader Raila Odinga to Mavoko Machakos County for their February 10 anti-government public gathering.

He added that he is a firm member of Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party and not ready to switch loyalty anytime as some sections wants to believe.

Defending his Tuesday February 7 morning visit at the Statehouse, the former Kiss 100 presenter stated that he had to attend the meeting which was completely free of politics.

The MP told Spice FM that the president remained silent on discussing politics and, instead, focused the discussion on pure development projects.

Jalang’o also added that he consulted his boss Raila Odinga before meeting the president at the Statehouse.

“When the project (housing project) was first launched, I called my party leader and he told me to go if it was development matters. Our party leader has given us the key to work on matters of development,” he stated adding that it was not going top be possible to miss a meeting in which president’s first project in Lang’ata was going to be discussed.

The housing project, according to the ODM MP, was to start on Wednesday February 8 and there was need to talk about it with government as well as arrange for logistics.

“Remember the President’s first project was in Lang’ata and that is why I was there. Ruto called for the meeting.

“I was told to sit with them because I come from the region. Being a leader, it was only noble that I sit with them there,” he stated.

When the MP arrived at the Statehouse on Tuesday, he also found several Orange Democratic Movement ODM legislators already there and joined them.

This, he argued, does not mean changing loyalty to the government’s side and that there should be nothing wrong when people meet to discuss projects.

Later that Tuesday, Governor James Orengo and his counterpart from Kisumu, Anyang Nyong’o, issued tough-worded statements against leaders who met Ruto at the Statehouse. The two described the meeting as ‘personal’.
