Saturday, August 14, 2021 -Kenyan’s popular comedian Jalang’o born Felix Odiwuor has launched a local Youtube version for creators.
According to Pesatoday, Jtube is short form for Jalang’o Tube run by the founder Felix Odiwuor – a comedian-cum-media personality.
Away from his daily radio job at Kiss 100 FM, Jalang’o runs other popular platforms like Jalang’o Tv blog and Youtube among many others.
His fame spans all the way from the days he was at Churchill show, then Citizen Tv’s Papa Shirandula before he became a common face with corporate adverts that keep paying him handsomely for Tv and banner adverts.
And to rival Youtube, the comedian said in his latest interview that this new online platform will not require any creator to meet a particular threshold to earn. He clarified that as long as one uploads original content, they will have to earn their fair share of 80 percent of the revenue from content adverts.
Business Today reported further that, just like YouTube, creators can also insert un-skippable Ads in their videos for higher revenues. It intends to connect creators to clients and handle the monetization of their videos.
“Its (Revenue) is not about views or watch-time. We are selling your content directly to clients,” Jalang’o highlighted in the interview.
It will also have a powerful software system which will check copyright complains for its creators.
And tasked to speak on the issue of CPM and CPC, he simply promised to handle each step at a time and urged creators not to be worried about the rest of the things since he has an able team of developers who will improve that platform as time goes by.
