Saturday, September 23, 2023 –Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party leader Raila Odinga supported MP Jalang’o with a whopping sh 5 million in cash for his parliamentary campaigns.

Embattled Lang’ata Member of Parliament Felix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o has, for the first time, made the revelations to the media.

ODM Party leader Raila Odinga(center) with Lang’ata MP Felix Odiwuor and Babu Owino today Tuesday Oct 11.

Speaking on TV47 yesterday Friday September 22, the MP confessed receiving the cash from Odinga who also went around campaigning for him around Lang’ata Constituency.

“Financially, we are the few people that one day Baba told us to plan something, and he said he would come and grace it to support us in the elections, and he gave me personally sh 5 million,” Jalang’o made the confession.

Role Raila Played

In the interview, the first time MP added that it was going to be hard for him to win the election if it were not for his party boss’ support.

“Even my campaigns could have been very hard, and I know the big role Baba played in me being a member of parliament, he supported me by not only endorsing me.

“It was fiery, it is not easy to beat an incumbent MP with the resources and everything,” he further stated.

The politician was addressing the outstanding matter of fallout with the party that sponsored his ticket to Parliament.

He is among the ODM MPs and Senators who were recently expelled from the party for what was described as ‘gross insubordination’ through their dalliance with the ruling regime.

Raila’s Party threw out the MPs most of who hail from Nyanza Region and asked them to seek fresh mandate from the voters.

Seeking reelection after expulsion

Odinga has told them to be man enough and resign so that they can meet on the ground again through by-elections.

“If they feel that they are now men enough, why can’t they resign and go. I did that in my time when I fell out with my party leader. I went and sought fresh mandate,” he recounted his days as an MP for Lang’ata.

Nonetheless, Jalang’o has maintained that he has done nothing wrong to the party to warrant the kind of punishment he was being subjected to.

“Baba knows very well, that Jalang’o is his son, baba loves me so much, but the truth is, when politics takes over even the love and betrayal, politics is a game of chance, a snowball,” he noted.

Those expelled from ODM Party

Just like Kisumu Senator Tom Ojienda, Jalang’o has vowed to stay put in the Party beyond 2027 general elections.

He noted that it is only him who will retain that seat for the Orange Party.

Others already expelled are Elisha Ochieng’ Odhiambo (Gem), Caroli Omondi (Suba South), and Gideon Ochanda (Bondo).
