Saturday, September 8, 2023 -Lang’ata Member of Parliament MP Phelix Odiwuor or Jalang’o has claimed that, heading to election, Raila Odinga promised him a communication job.
According to the MP, ODM Party wanted him to cede nomination to another candidate who was the party’s favourite for Lang’ata position.
“The party didn’t want me to run for the MP seat. The leadership sat me down and asked me to leave the race to somebody else.“They told me that our Party leader ‘Baba’ had decided that the seat belonged to my party rival what I rejected,” he claimed.
The embattled MP argued that it was not easier for him to vie in ODM Party because of too much resistance from within.
The radio presenter-turned-politician contemplated switching to another party or to go independent because he had resolved to do active politics.
“They told me that I have a job reserved for me in Raila Odinga’s upcoming government once he wins elections.“I told them its not possible. I want to be an MP, ” he revealed.
Jalang’o, who is among the more than five Lawmakers now expelled from the Party, said he didn’t trust the promise to get another job in Raila’s government. He also didn’t envisage Raila taking power from Kenya Kwanza.
He was making the revelations on an interview with TV47 hosted by both Alex Mwakideu and Emmanuel Mwashumbe on Saturday September 8.
