In a Tuesday September 12 statement, the Lang’ata lawmaker threatened to march to the courts so that to sue sections of the media attempting to malign his name in the fake gold scandals commonly referred to as wash wash.
Jalang’o was annoyed by the Tuesday media reports linking him together with other Members of Parliament MPs to wash wash business deals around Nairobi.
“Rogue media must be dealt with! After the steps I want to take against Citizen Weekly I dont think they will ever sit down and write a defamatory story on anyone again then call to extort you in the name of we will clean your name! Ill not fall for that nonsense! Good day,” he stated as seen by Homenews.Co.ke.
The radio presenter-turned-MP together with two other MPs – Trans Nzoia Senator Allan Chesang, Nyaribari Chache MP Zaheer Jhanda – are reported to have been involved in shoddy fake gold business around Kilimani area.
He has also sued blogger Cyprian Nyakundi over the same story with reports confirming that he has already sent a demand notice to Nyakundi.
“Jalang’o has sent me a demand letter demanding I delete a tweet and article linking him to gold fraud,” Nyakundi said.
In an early morning report by the media, it was alleged that the three politicians had been put on DCI radar over their questionable business activities.
Mr. Jalang’o is serving his first term as Lang’ata Constituency Member of Parliament under Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party.
