Sunday, March 19, 2023 –Lang’ata Member of Parliament MP Phelix Odiwuor alias Jalang’o has confirmed his relationship with President William Ruto.
An undated video clip has emerged from a Siaya County funeral function in which the first-time lawmaker is heard confessing that he joined President Ruto to learn how elections can be won.
Jalang’o told the mourners in his Siaya home that, the fact that Ruto has never lost an election, drew him closer to him so that to learn a skill from the head of State.
“Let me say this, I went to Ruto to learn skills of winning elections because Ruto has never lost elections since he entered politics. I went to learn how he (Ruto) has been getting it right whether it’s stealing or other ways,” he said.
The former Kiss 100 morning presenter is confident that, from Ruto, he will be able to become president of Kenya later on.
“I’m telling you I’m getting those skills and I know I will become the first person from the Luo community to become president. You will remember the statement I’m telling you today when a boy from Gem Constituency gets declared president,” he added as quoted by the Star.
Jalang’o has been in the eye of a storm after he became part of the 9 ODM rebels who declared that they will not be a party to the Monday’s demonstrations.
He even went ahead to quip that, unless the mass protest day is officially Gazetted, he will not be part of it.
He won the Lang’ata Parliamentary seat in the last general election beating United Democratic Alliance UDA Party candidate, Nixon Korir, who has since been rewarded with Ruto to be principal secretary State Department for Lands and Physical Planning.
