Friday, May 6, 2022 –Felix Odiwuor or Jalang’o will burn a whopping sh 40 million in his Lang’ata race campaigns.
Appearing on Citizen Tv interview on Friday May 6, the rich comedian-cum-radio personality disclosed that he was planning to allocate a budget of not less than sh 30 million for the political exercise ahead of the competitive August elections.
Asked where he would be getting all that cash to use for campaigns, the youthful ODM parliamentary candidate said friends and relatives will be coming in handy because he has a wealthy network of them.
He also defended that his opponents in Lang’ata were men and women of means and therefore a need for him to also prepare well to be able to carry the victory home on August 9.
He however, clarified that the said funds will be used to put logistics in order which will include transportation, branding and acquisition of merchandise.
“It is not about handouts or anything like that, but for a well-oiled campaign, it could easily cost about sh 30 million to sh 40 million so that you will be able to move into every single place and articulate your issues,” Jalang’o stated.
The ex-Kiss 100 morning presenter said, sadly, the campaigns are coming at the time Covid-19 virus had ravaged the economy and therefore the issue of handouts cannot be completely rubbished away this time.
“This is going to be the most expensive election for any politician because we are coming from the pandemic and you can’t go to the ground to articulate issues without giving food and shelter to the suffering electorates,” added Jalang’o.
He will be facing off with United Democratic Alliance UDA Party candidate who also happens to be the incumbent Mr. Nixon Korir.
