Thursday, August 31, 2023 –Embattled Lang’ata Member of Parliament MP Phelix Odiwuor has threatened to walk upto the Supreme Court to defend himself against ouster by his Party ODM.

Addressing reports of a plan by his party leadership to impeach him from his Parliamentary seat, the former entertainer said he will do whatever it takes to find justice should his removal commence.

“We will appeal, even if the case goes all the way to the Supreme Court,” Jalang’o insisted while being interviewed today Thursday August 31.

Jalang’o said he was being targeted and crucified on behalf of the rest of the MPs who are working with the government; and termed this as unfair measures against him.

“There are no serious differences with Baba (Raila), I love Baba so much, a political member, father figure and everything. I have never wronged him and I have never left ODM party and I never will,” Jalang’o said.

He noted that his resolve to remain in ODM Party while at the same time having a good relationship with Ruto should not be construed to mean he was planning to defect to the ruling side.

The former Kiss 100 presenter further quipped that he will run on ODM Party ticket in 2027 because he likes the statesmanship in Odinga.

The first-time MP said he will continue working with President William Ruto, claiming that he was being unfairly vilified for his actions.

Asked whether he first sought permission from his party before moving to work with the President, Jalang’o claimed that he made a phone call to his party leader before hosting Ruto in Lang’ata for the launch Affordable Housing Development projects. The MP, therefore, wondered why the decision had culminated into his isolation from the party.

He disclosed that, immediately after their meeting with Ruto both in Lang’ata and in the Statehouse where the president subsequently hosted them, ODM Party leadership started sidelining him.

In the ongoing bipartisan talks at the Bomas, party loyalty is among the main agenda listed on the agenda list signed by both Kalonzo Musyoka and co-chair Kimani Ichung’wah.

The agenda list also comprises plan to discuss cost of living, audit of last general election, creation of both office of the Opposition leader and Prime cabinet Secretary.
