John Mututho escapes death by an inch in a road crash

Former chairman of the National Authority for the Campaign Against Alcohol and Drug Abuse NACADA John Mututho was on Thursday afternoon involved in a road accident along Nairobi-Naivasha Highway.

Reports reaching Homenews.co.ke desk confirmed that the former Naivasha lawmaker’s car fatally crashed leaving his driver with serious injuries. Mututho on his part escaped by an inch.

In the recent past, there have been increased road accidents due to bad roads, speeding, poor traffic police policies(corruption) among many other reasons.

In some incidences, drunk driving has also been contributing to soaring number of deaths on major highways.

Towards and in the month of December, Kenyans lose lives in numbers through road accidents what makes it mandatory for everyone to be cautious.

Just recently, Mututho cautioned the State from banning alcohol during Covid-19 pandemic saying the move would have dire consequences and effects than Covid-19 virus itself.

“It is a fact that liquor has killed many and destroyed families, but the current proposal to ban its sale will lead to high mortality among the addicts,” he warned.

According to the former NACADA chairman, it sounded a far-fetched idea for the government to even think that it was possible to control the more than 8 million addicts who cannot live without the bottle.
