Friday, October 20, 2023 –Vocal-turned-quiet former Mombasa County governor Ali Hassan Joho has surfaced in a meeting with his political nemesis.
Joho was spotted having a day long meeting with Gender Cabinet Secretary Aisha Jumwa and Nyali Member of Parliament Mohammed MP Ali Mohamed, popularly by screen name Moha Jicho Pevu.
The former Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party trio met on Thursday October 20 in a meeting that saw Coast Region political leaders come together in a new arrangement that seeks to unite their region.
Moha Jicho Pevu updated their supporters that the meeting centered on Coastal development and Port matters.
“Most importantly, we discussed matters of all the three Ports in the Coast- Mombasa Port, Lamu Port and Shimoni Port and agreed to work together to safeguard and protect the interests of the People of The Coastal Region,” he stated.
He added that their difference in party ideologies should not inform the future of their Coastal matters at the expense of common mwananchi.
“We may differ in opinions, but we are united in our conviction towards serving our people of the Coast so that we, and the generations to come may realize the power of unity of purpose in achieving our Coastal developmental goals,” Mohamed added.
Also, in attendance were Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Sharif, Kwale Governor Fatuma Achani and Kilifi Governor Gideon Mung’aro.
Other leaders present were Tana River Governor Major Dhadho Godana, his Lamu counterpart Issa Timamy and Taita Taveta Governor Andrew Mwadime among others.
The leaders resolved to use a structured avenue to reach out to President William Ruto for the purpose of formulating an all-inclusive development agenda for their Coastal region.
