Saturday, February 13, 2021 – Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho has made good his threats by submitting his ODM Party presidential nominations papers.
Addressing his supporters in Mombasa County on Saturday February 13, the governor exhibited confidence that he will be picked by majority of delegates when the nomination is carried out.
“I will go all the way my friend.. and if I win, they should support me… and I shall win.. I am sure I will trounce all the other ODM presidential nominees..
“If Uhuru can win, I can, if Raila can win, I can..what is the difference?” Joho posed.
Joho now joins his Kakamega County Counterpart Wycliffe Oparanya and their party boss Raila Odinga in the ODM primary race.
The Party’s election’s board last month urged those interested in running for the presidency to pick nominations papers and submit them in time for scrutiny.
Earlier in their online altercation, Joho and Suna East MP Junet Mohamed appeared to engage each other negatively with Junet wondering how Mr. Joho would make it past early stages.
“Go where?” Junet asked, to which Joho responded, “My friend where else did you expect us to meet if not the ballot?”
MP Junet would then ask Governor Joho to do the honorable thing and submit his academic papers and other qualification as required by the party and stop ranting on twitter.
