Friday, April 21, 2023 –Former Mombasa County Governor Ali Hassan Joho has returned to Azimio after a long period of deafening silence.
Since last year’s general election, the vocal ex-Mombasa Governor Ali Hassan Joho quickly disappeared from the scenes.
It would then emerge later-on that he was taking a rest in the United States of America USA where he has been for more than six months.
On return yesterday Thursday April 21, he defended his absence saying he has been on medication and, in particular, surgery which he didn’t specify.
He added that he is disappointed by the current political situation in the country saying the high cost of living is as a result of poor governance by the current regime of William Ruto and his deputy Rigathi Gachagua.
Joho, therefore, noted that he will soon be back on the streets to support push by the opposition to lower cost of living.
“I support politics and am disappointed to see here in Coast leaders are not ready to push government lower cost of living. Soon you will see me on the streets since I support Azimio la Umoja ideology,” Joho was quoted by the NTV on Friday April 21.
His return will, therefore, be of great boost to Azimio coalition led by Raila Odinga who is already pushing for reforms through national protests.
Just like Joho, former Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu called it a day from Azimio activities and said she cannot be on the streets the rest of her life. She went on to challenge young blood to join Raila.
Constantly with Odinga on the streets has been former Kakamega County governor Wycliffe Oparanya.
