Wednesday, March 15, 2023 –Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna has asked youth around the country to always join government functions and eat food bought with tax payers’ money.
Addressing the Senate today Wednesday March 15, the visibly charged up lawmaker wondered how government agencies can be using millions to organize retreats and functions around the country when millions of Kenyans continue suffering in abject poverty.
He lauded a group of raging youth who stormed Communication Authority event in Kisumu Town and disrupted it completely.
They made sure any gadget as a well as foods and drinks were not left behind by the time they were done with the raid.
Presiding CA boss Ezra Chiloba and his colleagues had to scamper for their safety as the youth overwhelmed them in the process.
“How insensitive do you have to be, to throw a feast in front of starving people? A hungry man is a very angry man!
“I have seen recent Increase in budget at the Statehouse and it is sad that this is happening even as millions of citizens remain in poverty.
“As senator of Nairobi, any Kenyan wherever you meet a government agency holding a meeting, go there and eat that food. That’s your tax,” he announced.
Sifuna is part of the top leaders in Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya coalition that was defeated by William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
The team has since declared countrywide mass action against the State.
