Monday, October 18, 2021 –Monica Kimani’s murder key suspect Jowie Irungu has been asked to leave Nairobi City following past court orders.
Justice Cecilia Githua on Monday October 18 ordered the suspect to relocate to Nakuru County as per bail terms which required him to work and live in Nakuru only.
“I hereby issue a warning against the respondent to abide by the orders issued by Justice Wakianga in respect to the area of domicile. He is required to work within the domicile area (Nakuru),” ruled the Judge.
This judgement today is coming at the time the Director of Public Prosecution DPP moved to court to force the suspect who is out on cash bail to obey every clause of the bail term.
He argued in his new submission that Irungu was still residing in Lang’ata area in total violation of active orders which restricted his free movements around the country.
The DPP added that Irungu still lives within the crime scene locality and was able to tamper with a lot even as the case still goes on.
“He continues to move and reside within Lang’ata area being the secondary crime scene and the locality of the potential witnesses who have and are yet to testify,” read the application.
DPP told the court that Jowie was reported to have involved in another crime on March 7 this year where he is said to have physically attacked Rodgers Ochieng Okuta in a club. That his freedom was costly to many other lives out there.
