Monday, December 6, 2021 –Jubilee Party has started working with Raila Odinga’s Orange Democratic Movement ODM Party towards next general elections.
ODM Party Secretary General Edwin Sifuna today Monday December 6 observed that they are already in partnership with their Jubilee counterparts and together they are already preparing for the Raila’s scheduled Azimio la Umoja meeting to be held at Kasarani Stadium on Friday December 10.
The Azimio la Umoja as described by ODM Party leader is meant to allow Mr. Odinga to finally make clear his intentions to vie in 2022.
“This is a joint effort between the two political parties. Earlier this morning (Monday), Raila was meeting with the leadership of the Jubilee Party and the ODM Party in Nairobi County and this is to prepare for the event and that it is something that we are doing together,” Sifuna disclosed.
He also added that Jubilee Party supporters and elected leaders will all be available in the highly awaited Friday event.
This is a direct hint at the plan for the two camps to form a formidable alliance that might face-off with rivals.
“It is something that we have already resolved that we are going to walk together as the two political parties and especially here in Nairobi. I think it is consensus that if the two political parties are working together then all the seats will be available for our coalition,” the ODM Party SG further clarified.
Sifuna confirmed that Kasarani only allows a capacity of 60,000 persons and this has made it hard for them to open gates for the excess heads willing to attend the event.
On his part, Raila updated on his social media platforms that he had met with both Jubilee and ODM party leadership within Nairobi to make the event a success.
“Gearing up for Friday. Met the Nairobi County ODM and Jubilee Party leadership to ensure we have an extravaganza to behold. We will politic and celebrate,” Raila stated.
Raila’s close ally MP Junet Mohamed used the opportunity to urge anyone willing to attend the event to make his/her way into the stadium; their political party affiliation notwithstanding since it is not an event exclusive for ODM members alone.
