Saturday, October 22, 2022 –Lawyer Abdullahi Ahmednasir has exposed several judges in the country whom he has described as drunkards.
The Nairobi-based lawyer who through his popular Twitter handle, on Saturday October 22 took issue with Chief Justice Martha Koome for failing to address the elephant in the room on how the Judiciary is suffering from lack of professional discipline.

He added that the CJ was wrong on remaining silent on discipline issues; what is quickly eroding the standards of the once-glorious arm of government.
“CJ KOOME will never admit but Kenyan judiciary is facing a huge crisis of alcohol abuse among judges/magistrates…judges/magistrates drinking all night (Monday to Sunday) in local bars, many collapsing in bars is now common…CJ should URGENTLY open a rehab centre for judges,” he stated.
He said this just hours after he had also pointed out how the CJ was forgetting to address the serious matter concerning poor citizens languishing in prisons countrywide for lack of quick justice.
“When will CJ KOOME celebrate Mashujaa Day with the thousands of Kenyans who wait 12-15 yrs to have their cases heard in court?…Or those who languish in police remand because they can’t raise the crazy cash bail courts demand. For KOOME the cameras roll…she is acting her part,” he observed.

This was in response to a post made by the Judiciary in which several members of the bench camped in Kapenguria on Mashujaa Day.
The Judiciary stated that they had to travel all the way to Kapenguria in honor of the Independence heroes who were detained and charged there.
