Kabogo Exposes Jumia Over Wrong Delivery

Monday, February 28, 2022 –Jumia Kenya is on the spot after allegedly making a wrong delivery to one of their Nairobi clients.

According to Pesatoday.com, outspoken former Kiambu County Governor William Kabogo exposed the online vendor for delivering what he had not paid for.

A Jumia sales lady on the advertisement.

“It is wrong to advertise one thing and deliver the other. This amounts to false or misleading representation,” he wrote.

Kabogo explained how he saw a gadget advertised online and quickly made an order only for the company to bring something else. He claimed that what was delivered was a completely different product.

The agitated politician now wants the Competition Authority of Kenya (CAK) to swing into action to investigate the online shopping platform for taking advantage of their virtual clients.

Last year, Jumia was also put on the spot for false advertisement as a number of their local clientele complained that the firm was advertising one thing and delivering the other.

“They sent me a counterfeit iPhone 8plus which cost me 47k…I returned it to them but they said ati my return reason is invalid and indicated ‘delivered’ when I had not received the product yet,” Kiprono complained.

Due to the same reasons, the online vendor’s profits were heavily affected last year as it emerged that they had recorded an operating loss of $51.6 million (sh 5.1 billion) in Q2 2021.
