Thursday, April 6, 2023 –Former Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has told Kenya Kwanza government that it will be hard to wish away Mr. Raila Odinga.
Kabogo, who was reacting to the current situation in the country, has said that making Raila irrelevant cannot work and that could be where the government is getting it wrong.
According to the Jibebe Party boss, the poll difference of only 200,000 votes in a national election is not something to wish away the way Kenya Kwanza politicians would like it to be.
“A difference of 200,000 votes only and you want to ignore Raila. He knows about those numbers and when he calls the numbers on the streets of Nairobi, they will turn up immediately,” Kabogo to his host Ken Mijungu.
His sentiments were quickly supported by fellow panelists also who argued that, coupled with, what Mr. Odinga is demanding, William Ruto has no option left but to accept the dialogue route and bring back calmness in the country.
“I am happy the President has seen some light and indicated plans towards that direction,” Mr. Kabogo added.
They were addressing this matter on KTN Tv show just days after Raila and President William Ruto hinted at striking a working deal.
However, already deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has warned that inclusion of Raila into their government may trigger his immediate resignation from government.
“If there is going to be a Handshake with Raila, I won’t be there. I will instead resign,” he said today Thursday.
Gachagua claimed that he is not ready to be part of unconstitutional matters which could arise from Raila’s intensified protests around the city.
