Saturday, April 15, 2023 –Former Azimio la Umoja elections chief agent Saitabao Ole Kanchory has revealed how Suna East Member of Parliament MP Junet Mohamed and a close associate of Raila Odinga shut him up when he attempted to raise an issue on Wafula Chebukati.
In his viral book he released this week with the title, ‘Why Baba is not the Fifth’ the lawyer recounts how they noticed loopholes in the way Wafula Chebukati was preparing the election but when they went to raise the matter with their party leader Raila Odinga, MP Junet quickly pulled him aside and warned him to stop ranting over ‘small issues’.
“He pulled me aside and cautioned me against raising non-issues. He also told me in the face that nothing was there to worry about,” Kanchory narrates in his book.
Kanchory added that this was happening in the presence of former Kitui Governor Charity Ngilu who was accompanying him because they both had fears over what they had seen happen heading to the elections.
“I was accompanied with Charity Ngilu but we were told by Junet that Chebukati is a very good guy,” he added.
And speaking on Raila’s overall conduct, Lawyer Kanchory says it was not easy to advise Raila on anything when Junet is around.
Furthermore, Raila ignored so many people including some important intel from Western Embassies which had issues with Chebukati’s preparedness.
