Sunday, September 11, 2022 –Cracks have started emerging in Kakamega County leadership as Deputy Governor Ayub Savula joins William Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza.
Mr. Savula made the announcement yesterday during a local burial function at his Lugari area in Kakamega County on Saturday September 10.
The outspoken politician asserted that his joining Azimio was a forced exercise after the State, through the Directorate of Criminal Investigations DCI, started harassing him together with his family members over trumped up graft charges.
“Mimi nilikuwa upande ule na kukuja huku kwingine nililazimishwa tu. Walianza kunishika kila siku mara bibi yangu ndani kesho bibi mwingine ndani basi nikachoka sababu nani angetoa bond na sisi wote tuko ndani? Kuanzia leo mimi nafanya kazi na William Samoei Ruto,” he stated.
The former Lugari MP seized the opportunity to urge his boss Governor Ferdinand Barasa to quit Azimio since their leader(Raila Odinga) is already old.
He added that the leadership of this country was now in the hands of young men and women and that is the only way to go.
He also said William Ruto was a God-chosen leader who will make this country proud due to his commitment to both God and service delivery.
Mr. Savula who was former Amani National Congress ANC Deputy Party leader broke ranks with Musalia Mudavadi immediately the 2022 campaigns were announced. Mudavadi would then join Ruto’s Kenya Kwanza as Savula joined a newly-formed DAP-Kenya Party which was started by Eugene Wamalwa.
