Friday, August 23, 2024 –Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has, today Friday August 23, met with United States of America U.S.A Ambassador Meg Whitman.
The opposition politician disclosed this after he held the successful meeting with the U.S diplomat who has been very close to the William Ruto’s government.
“It was a pleasure to host Meg Whitman Whitman at the SKM Command Centre early this morning. We discussed various issues, including the current political situation in the country. I look forward to our continued engagements,” wrote Kalonzo in a statement he shared on his public social handles.
Kalonzo is among Azimio la Umoja bigwigs who refused to join the William Ruto-led administration citing runaway corruption, abductions and killings.
Together with DAP-Kenya Party boss Eugene Wamalwa and Roots Party leader George Wajakoyah, Mr. Musuoka has remained adamant that joining Ruto is a way of betraying the Gen Zs who have been protesting against poor governance from Kenya Kwanza leaders.
“Thank you Embu Gen Z and Millennials who came out in large numbers in protest against the punitive anti-people Finance Bill, 2024. Because of your brave acts, Kenya will not be the same again. We have a lot of work to do and we WILL do it as the official opposition,” Mr. Musyoka stated on August 18.
His Wiper Party leadership also, recently, announced that it will field many Gen Zs in several elective posts so that to continue pushing their agenda.
This is despite calls by government to have nominees in the current government where ODM Party already bagged four Cabinet slots and several other senior State appointments.
Those who joined government are Opiyo Wandayi, John Mbadi, Wycliffe Oparanya and former governor Ali Hassan Joho.
