Friday, February 25, 2022 –Wiper Democratic Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka has proposed a new grand coalition name for their alliance with Raila Odinga.
While edging close to sealing their merger, Mr. Kalonzo today Friday February 25, said together with Jubilee Party, they will be creating a formidable outfit dubbed Azimio-One Kenya Alliance.
He told the media that the OKA’s affiliate parties had all agreed to have a clear structured engagement with like-minded parties like ODM and Jubilee coalition.
OKA comprising Wiper, Narc-Kenya, UDP and KANU parties had consulted and greed in one voice to join Jubilee and ODM ahead on next elections. He confirmed.
“The alliance shall be anchored on three equal pillars. As OKA we firmly believe in an open, honest and structured dialogue whose basis is a promotion of national unity, upholding and respecting the dignity of all Kenyans, ending the culture of graft and impunity and restoring the decency of living within our borders,” Musyoka stated.
The agreement for their OKA new alliance, Kalonzo revealed, will officially be signed next Monday February 28.
“We will officially sign the coalition agreement as an affirmation of our commitment to seeing a just, inclusive and prosperous nation. Thereafter, we shall deposit the coalition agreement with the registrar of political parties,” he added saying this will be also an opportunity for OKA to unveil their presidential candidate.
The happenings are as a result of a series of meetings with the the Head of State as well as a meeting he held with Raila Odinga at a hotel in Mombasa last Sunday February 20.
Musyoka’s decision is a reprieve for Raila and Uhuru after a long period of cat and mouse between the two camps – Azimio proponents and OKA.
The coming in of Kalonzo now makes it the third time he is supporting Raila’s presidential bid even after having earlier denounced going that route again.
