Sunday, September 3, 2023 –Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka on Saturday boarded a train bound to the Coast for the burial ceremony of his party member.
The Azimio la Umoja-One Kenya co-principal traveled in the economy class in which he rode from Nairobi to Voi to pay his last respect to the fallen Nominated Member of County Assembly MCA Constance Mwandawiro of Wiper Party.
“I’m vividly reminded as I journey to Voi – via our SGR – to pay my respects and bid farewell to a gallant servant Hon Constance Mwandawiro,” he captioned.
Photos of Mr. Kalonzo inside the Standard Gauge Railway SGR then went viral with sections of Kenyans thinking the Wiper Party boss was now serious with his 2027 preparations.
“We’ve had a brief stop for a stride out at Kibwezi, Makueni County. I’m enjoying recollecting history: Kibwezi is the colonialist version of “Kivisi” meaning young man,” Musyoka added.
While in Voi in the burial service, the politician made remarks in support of President William Rutio’s leadership saying the current head of State had shown maturity by supporting the ongoing Bipartisan talks.
“We are going to call everybody to order. And nobody is going to stop these discussions. On that part I must congratulate the President because he has put his foot down anasema mazungumzo iendelee.
“Na kwa sababu ya kuonyesha msimamo huo, ata na sisi tunazidi kumtambua,” ,”Kalonzo said.
He said the coalition now recognises Ruto as the duly elected President because of his stance to keep the bi-partisan talks between the Kenya Kwanza faction and Azimio going.
Kalonzo spoke on Saturday September 2 when he attended the burial ceremony of Wiper Nominated MCA Constance Mkamburi Mwandawiro in Voi, Taita Taveta county.
The former vice president used that chance to warn that the continuous attack on the bipartisan talks by the deputy president indicates that he is hellbent on undermining his boss, William Ruto.
